Laney is a large, strong, female Malinois shepherd cross. She is obedient, with a relaxed and calm nature when not stimulated by another dog. Laney needs a firm but fair owner, who is willing to learn handling skills. As part of the adoption process, the Heigl Foundation will pay for two training sessions with our trainer to assist you.
Laney will often resource guard high value objects like bones and treats, which means that she is not a good candidate for people with young children in the home. However, this trait is simply not an issue for adults with a little training, and Laney would make a great companion and protector for the right person. She would also potentially suit a household with another large male dog that is easy going and relatively subordinate.
